The Way Forward review Posted on July 11September 22 The Way Forward is a presentation of biblical principles in simple, easy to understand form. It is not intended to be a theological discourse but introduces 120 topics, accompanied by scriptural references. Who is it for? It can be daunting for those beginning their Christian journey to know where to start when studying the bible. This book will help them by guiding them through various topics. It begins with basic truths that form the foundation of the Christian life and ends with a section called Our Destiny that looks at our inheritance as believers and the kingdom of God. It is a very useful tool for those who lead small Bible study groups. This book is not suitable for those who are looking for an in-depth perspective on each topic – it is designed to give a taste of each topic so as to encourage further self-study. Contents The book is divided into the following sections: Basic Truths Characteristics of God Why are we here? Pitfalls to be avoided God’s Way for Us Overseeing God’s blessings The Way Forward Our Destiny Some interesting topics covered are Baptism by fire, the multi-faceted nature of God, Religion or Relationship, the Subtlety of Idolatry, The Short Cut Syndrome, Serving without a Slave Mentality, Discovering your Talents and The Royal Robes. Each topic is covered briefly and gives relevant scriptures. At the end of each topic is a statement – for example, the topic Pointing of the Finger addresses the issue of judging others and concludes with the statement “Judging others is God’s prerogative”. About the Author Ryall Erfmann had no formal theological training but he held various leadership roles in the Church in his life. He was involved for many years in shepherding, counselling and running marriage courses. His life was filled with rich, sometimes faith-stretching experiences. In a significant meeting with God in the early 19702, he very clearly heard God saying “Feed my sheep.” He was faithful to this and was consistently involved in imparting to others throughout his life. In this book he unearths, cuts and polishes some of the raw nuggets of spiritual life.
